The Challenge: Revitalizing Civic Health in Arkansas
Arkansas struggles with civic health, marked by low voter turnout and limited engagement outside of elections. The Arkansas Collegiate Civic Leadership Academy (ACCLA) is changing that narrative by equipping college students to become informed, committed civic leaders for the long term.
ACCLA is an immersive, relationship-driven experience intentionally designed to help students understand civic systems and their own role within them. Delivering that kind of program requires a significant investment.
Breaking Down the Barrier to Participation
The full cost to support one student’s participation in ACCLA is approximately $2,000. While the Institute subsidizes much of this, students contribute $600 in tuition. While some students gain financial support elsewhere, many are responsible for the full amount. Scholarship support helps close that gap.
