“In my view the most compelling challenge before us today is that we recognize, understand, and share a common vision of the future of Arkansas, and then work for it together.”

Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller’s Farewell Address to the General Assembly, January, 12, 1971

Winthrop Rockefeller knew that the only way to create lasting, transformational change was to find others who share your goals and work together tirelessly to reach them. Your donation supports those who are dedicated to the difficult yet vital work of collaboration. Gifts develop leaders from across Arkansas and beyond who are working together right now to solve some of our state’s most challenging issues.

Your gift can be directed to the area of greatest need or one of our specific funds. The Governor Winthrop Rockefeller Endowment covers much of our operational costs, and revenue from groups that convene at the Institute make up the majority of our annual budget. You can read more about our expenses and revenue in the latest annual report.

Thanks to these funding sources, 100% of your gift goes to supporting the Rockefeller Ethic, which comes directly from the way Winthrop Rockefeller lived and worked and is drawn from his leadership style. We appreciate gifts of any amount and have Giving Levels that provide meaningful benefits to donors.

If you would like to speak with someone regarding sponsorships, planned giving, in-kind donations, or have questions about your gift, please contact the Advancement Office via email or call (501) 727-6211.

Our society today is more polarized than ever, and it can be difficult to put aside our differences long enough to find common ground and chart a path forward toward lasting change. We need an organization to encourage and value all voices so we can search for solutions together. The Institute is that organization, and we need your support.

The Rockefeller Ethic

Collaborative Problem Solving + Respectful Dialogue + Diversity of Opinion = Transformational Change

We create and help others create change with the use of the Rockefeller Ethic. The Rockefeller Ethic represents the belief that if we

  • invite people with different backgrounds, opinions, and experiences to
  • listen and talk to each other with respect and build mutual understanding, we can
  • solve problems and create new opportunities together, resulting in transformational change for Arkansas, our region, and the world.

The Winthrop Rockefeller Institute is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Your gift is tax-deductible as allowed by law.
