Walks with the Governor

Who has shaped your life the most? What did they leave behind — and what do you hope to leave for the people who come after you?

These are the questions at the heart of Walks with the Governor, a one-of-a-kind leadership workshop inspired by the life of Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller.

This experience blends personal reflection, open team conversation, and a journey through history. Together, your group will explore the Governor’s approach to leadership: one built on working with others to create real, lasting change.

What Makes This Workshop Special?

There’s nothing quite like walking the same paths the Governor walked. When you join us on Petit Jean Mountain, our guides lead you across his former homestead. You’ll visit the places that mattered most to him and hear the stories that shaped his life and leadership.

Can’t make it to the mountain? No problem — we can bring the experience to you. If we host the workshop at your location, or if the weather keeps us indoors, we share the journey through rich photos, videos, and stories. The setting may change, but the meaning stays the same.

What You Can Expect

Walks with the Governor invites you to slow down and think about the bigger picture:

  • What kind of leader do you want to be?
  • What do you want to be remembered for?
  • How can your team work together to leave something good behind?

Through guided reflection and honest conversation, you’ll walk away with a clearer sense of your own values and fresh ideas for leading with purpose.

A Workshop Built on Legacy

Gov. Rockefeller believed in working side by side with others to build something better than what came before. That same spirit lives in this workshop today. Whether you’re a brand-new leader or a seasoned one, Walks with the Governor helps you connect your work today to the legacy you hope to leave tomorrow.

“We cannot lead others until we can lead ourselves. I think that may be the most important truth of all.”

Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller
