We are grateful for the support and engagement in the Incarceration: Recidivism, Reentry, and Reunification (iR3) program. After three years of dedicated work, this program has come to a close. Through collaboration with community partners, policymakers, and those directly impacted by incarceration, we made significant strides in addressing the challenges of recidivism, supporting reentry into society, and fostering family reunification.

Key Achievements

  • Successfully advocated for the allocation of $1 million from Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin, funding a groundbreaking community diversion pilot program.
  • Partnered with Arkansas 211 to establish a comprehensive resource bank, drawing from the collective expertise of participating organizations to support ongoing efforts.
  • Launched the “Arkansans for Smart Justice” media platform to enhance public understanding and reduce the stigma associated with incarceration.
  • Implemented policy recommendations that have led to positive changes in the legal landscape, benefiting individuals and communities across the state.
  • Fostered numerous new relationships, networks, and shared ideas, creating opportunities for collaboration that previously did not exist.

Our final report outlines the timeline of the work and details the accomplishments that resulted from this initiative. It serves as a testament to the collective efforts to create a more just and supportive environment for individuals transitioning from incarceration. While the program has officially closed, the insights gained will continue to inform future efforts in criminal justice reform in Arkansas.

We invite you to read the final report below to learn more about the program’s achievements and the path forward for continued advocacy and action in this critical area.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
