Driving Directions

To get driving directions on your phone or computer, visit your map website of choice (we recommend Google Maps) and type Winthrop Rockefeller Institute in the search bar.

From I-40 traveling West (from Pine Bluff, Little Rock, Conway)

  • When traveling west on I-40, take exit 108 for AR-9 S toward Morrilton and head south. There will be periodic signs for Petit Jean State Park which will help show you the way to the top of Petit Jean Mountain.
  • Bear left/go straight at the light onto Highway 9 Bypass and continue south toward Oppelo. 
  • Turn right onto Highway 154 and travel 7.3 miles to the top of Petit Jean Mountain.
  • At the top, turn right at Winrock Drive and continue four miles. There will be a large white sign that says “Winthrop Rockefeller Institute” where you should turn right.
  • When you come to a closed gate, turn left onto Montgomery Trace and go one mile. There will be another large white sign that says “Winthrop Rockefeller Institute” where you should turn left.
  • Take a right onto Rockefeller Drive at the rock sign and continue one mile until you reach another rock sign.
  • Yield to the right and travel straight until you arrive at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute. The main lobby/check-in is located between the historic grain silos.

From I-40 traveling East (from Fort Smith, Fayetteville, Russellville)

  • When traveling east on I-40, take exit 81 toward Russellville. Merge onto Highway 7/27 and continue for 7 miles.
  • Turn left onto Highway 7 N/155 and continue for 2.9 miles.
  • Turn left onto Highway 155 and continue for 7.5 miles.
  • Turn left onto Highway 154 and continue for 11.7 miles.
  • Turn left onto Red Bluff Drive and continue for 0.2 miles.
  • Turn sharp right onto Montgomery Trace and continue for 0.5 miles.
  • Take the second left onto Rockefeller Drive (look for the large stone Winthrop Rockefeller Institute sign and the large, open, iron gate).
  • Continue one mile until you reach another rock sign.
  • Yield to the right and travel straight until you arrive at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute. The main lobby/check-in is located between the historic grain silos.

From I-30 traveling North (from Texarkana, Hope, Arkadelphia)

  • When traveling northeast on I-30, take exit 129 toward I-430 N.
  • Continue onto I-430 N for 12.4 miles.
  • Use the left 2 lanes to take exit 13B to merge onto I-40 W toward Fort Smith
  • Keep left to stay on I-40 W for 17 miles.
  • Take exit 108 for AR-9 S toward Morrilton and head south. There will be periodic signs for Petit Jean State Park which will help show you the way to the top of Petit Jean Mountain.

From highway 67 traveling Southwest (from Jonesboro, Searcy)

  • When heading southwest on US-67 S, take exit 28 to merge onto US-64 W toward Conway.
  • Merge onto US-64 W, stay on US-64 W for 32.5 miles.
  • Use the right lane to take the ramp onto I-40 W. Take 1-40 W for 18 miles.
  • Take exit 108 for AR-9 S toward Morrilton and head south. There will be periodic signs for Petit Jean State Park which will help show you the way to the top of Petit Jean Mountain.
  • Bear left/go straight at the light onto Highway 9 Bypass and continue south toward Oppelo.
