Harris will succeed current executive director/CEO Dr. Marta Loyd, who retires March 31. Harris has served at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute (the Institute) since 2016, first as director of programs, followed by a promotion to chief programs and marketing officer in 2018. She currently serves as chief strategy officer, a role she has held for two years.

“I know for a fact, from reviewing all your work, that there are a series of things that have been accomplished that are monumental.”

Relationships take time and effort to be authentic, and they require people to become known for who they really are, not just by their wealth or their name. “Rock” understood that.

“Never once did I doubt that our top priority had to go to education,” he wrote in the 1967 A Paper on Education. “Our oldest problems are rooted there, and surely our brightest opportunities for the future are to be found there.”
