While spring will be over before we know it, summertime fun is on the way! Petit Jean State Park is calling you to explore its beauty and fun events. From beautiful strolls to birds soaring across the sky, there’s something for everyone. Meanwhile, the City of Morrilton is keeping the spirit of summertime fun alive with community activities and recreation. Here’s what’s on the calendar: 

Petit Jean State Park Highlights 

Cedar Falls Overlook Stroll 

Date: Friday, May 30 

Description: Join a park interpreter for a relaxed, wheelchair-accessible 1/4-mile walk. We explore what makes Petit Jean State Park truly unique. Along the way, soak in the stunning view of Cedar Falls from the overlook and discover the stories behind this remarkable landscape. Don’t forget to bring some water to stay refreshed!

Wings Over the River Valley 

Date: Friday, May 30 

Description: Discover what’s taking flight above! From graceful vultures to soaring hawks and maybe even a surprise feathered guest. Experience this thrilling birdwatching adventure paired with breathtaking scenery. Bring your binoculars or borrow a pair from us and get ready to spot something amazing!

67th Annual Petit Jean Swap Meet & Car Show 

Date:  Wednesday, June 11, through Saturday, June 14 

Description: The car events are located on the shaded, tree-lined grounds of the Museum of Automobiles on top of Petit Jean Mountain.

City of Morrilton 

Morrilton City Pool 

Description: Stay refreshed at the city pool and splash pad, a great family-friendly escape on warm summer days.

Sacred Heart Bazaar 

Dates: Friday, May 30, and Saturday, May 31 

Description: Friday features a hamburger lunch and an evening ticketed social with live music, auction, food, and drinks. Saturday’s festivities run from 5–11 p.m. with bingo, games, a silent auction, and an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner ($15 adults, $10 ages 4–12) from 5–8 p.m. Drive-thru to-go orders are available from 4–5:30 p.m. A raffle for a 2025 Toyota Tacoma will be drawn Saturday night.

University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton 

Description: Adventure, learning, and fun await at UACCM’s summer camps for kids and teens.

  • The Career Tech Academy, open to students who have completed grades 9–12, will be held June 9–12.  
  • Explore Outdoors, designed for students finishing grades 4–6, is scheduled for June 16–19.
  • Kids’ College will run from June 23–26 and includes two sessions: one for students who have completed Kindergarten or first grade, and another for those who have finished second or third grade.  
  • Welding Camp, for students in grades 10–12, will also take place June 23–26. Registration for these camps opens on May 1. Meanwhile, registration is already open for Inside Engineering, a camp for students who have completed grades 5–8. That camp is set for July 21–25.

Little Shop of Horrors 

Dates: Friday, June 20, and Sunday, June 29 

Description: The quirky, cult-classic musical Little Shop of Horrors comes alive at downtown Morrilton’s Rialto Community Arts Center!
