Who influenced you the most in your life? What kind of legacy did they leave behind? What kind of legacy do you want to leave?

These are the questions at the center of Walks with the Governor, a leadership development workshop inspired by the life and work of Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller. Typically, it’s available to organizations and Institute guests who specifically request the workshop during their stay, but it is now available to the public. To celebrate our 20th anniversary, anyone can attend a Walks with the Governor workshop — just RSVP!

Seating is limited, so please register online. Upcoming dates include:

Walks with the Governor is designed for people who want to think more intentionally about leadership, community, and purpose. The workshop blends personal reflection with group conversations, offering practical takeaways rooted in Gov. Rockefeller’s values and approach to change.

When held on the Institute’s Petit Jean Mountain campus, participants explore historic locations across the former Winrock Farms headquarters and learn about Gov. Rockefeller’s leadership and legacy firsthand. The experience aims to help participants step back from daily responsibilities, examine what kind of leader they are, and explore what kind of change they want to create. Whether early in your career, leading a team, volunteering in your community, or entering a new chapter, this workshop is built to be meaningful and relevant.

Walks with the Governor also offers something you don’t get in a typical meeting room: space to pause and think. This workshop doesn’t require prior leadership training or any special background. Just come up to the mountain with curiosity and a willingness to reflect. If you’re ready to think more deeply about the legacy you’re creating, we invite you to join us.
