We invite conference guests and Winthrop Rockefeller Retreat participants to add a Culinary Team Building Activity to their Institute experience! Your group will enjoy friendly competition and have a memorable time together.

Rock Chop Challenge

Cooking in the culinary classroom

For those who like to be creative in the kitchen and can think on their feet! Participants will join together in teams of 3-4 to tackle the mystery ingredients in their basket, cooking an entrée and sides to create a full meal in less than two hours. Our professional culinary kitchen will be where the magic happens, and the teams will present their finished meal to a panel of judges in the culinary classroom who will judge their creations on creativity, presentation, and taste.

Activity Details

  • Minimum of 6 and maximum of 16 participants
  • 2 – 2 ½ hours allotted in your agenda for this activity
  • Cost per participant: $50

Participants will get to taste their creations as amounts allow, and the Institute will serve additional food to ensure everyone enjoys a delicious meal.

Pizza Challenge

Cooking in the culinary classroom

Who can make the most interesting, and most delicious, pizza?

Pizza challengers will be divided into two teams, and each team will be split into two groups. One group will create two pizzas to dazzle the judges, one savory and one sweet. The other group will dazzle the judges in another way – with a compelling sales pitch and pizza box design for their creations. Did someone say…jingle? Once completed, the finished products of both groups’ efforts will be presented to the judges and one team will be crowned pizza champions.

Activity Details

  • Minimum of 15 and maximum of 40 participants
  • 2 hours allotted in your agenda for this activity
  • Cost per participant: $45

Participants will get to taste their creations as amounts allow, and the Institute will serve additional food to ensure everyone enjoys a delicious meal.

Sips & Sweets

Cooking in the culinary classroom

Unlike our other two competitive offerings, Sips & Sweets is all about enjoyment and relaxation.

After your group has done their best work all day in the conference rooms at the Institute, come together to toast your efforts with a variety of wines and celebrate with a house made dessert.
