Facilitation on the Move

by Lucas Potts, Marketing & Communications Assistant

The Institute’s Facilitation Services team helps organizations bring their vision to life. Whether you’re facing complex challenges, exploring new solutions, or navigating high-stakes decisions, our expert facilitators can design focused, results-driven sessions that move your team forward.

At the core of our facilitative work are Director of Facilitation Services, Payton Christenberry, and Senior Facilitation Services Officer, Molly Thomason. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to make collaboration more effective, strategic, and inclusive, regardless of group size or industry.

“If you have a group that needs to collaborate better or find common ground, that’s our bread and butter,” Christenberry said. “Initial consultations cost nothing, so reach out and see what we can offer.”

To support their expanding mission, the team has recently relocated to a new home base on campus: the Meadows Building. Once a guest area, it has been transformed into a dynamic hub tailored to Facilitation’s unique needs. The move supports long-term growth, providing space for future team members, enhanced access to supplies and meeting space, and an environment that fosters the efficiency and impact of their work.

“There wasn’t as much office space where we were previously,” Christenberry explained. “Institute key leaders conducted a campus-wide assessment, and this space required minimal investment thanks to in-house renovation work by our maintenance team, and offered enough flexibility for future growth.”

Beyond logistics, the new space opens the door to more ambitious facilitation methods.

“This is shaping up to be a collaborative space, so we’re thinking about what’s next: graphic facilitation, new workshop formats, things that require space to experiment,” Thomason said.

Christenberry and Thomason are especially excited about their proximity to the Stables classroom, which they envision as a future venue for larger facilitated sessions. With a capacity for 20–30 people and ample wall space to roll out their signature chart boards, it’s ideal for leadership teams, planning committees, and community groups.

With a new space and expanding capabilities, the Facilitation Services team is more equipped than ever to help groups tackle challenges, plan with intention, and collaborate effectively.

When the Institute set out in 2023 to better understand the future of groundwater in Arkansas agriculture, we did not begin with a plan. We began with a question: how can Arkansas remain a leading agricultural producer and still have plenty of water for generations to come? That question shaped the WATER program (short for...
